International Culture Club Final Celebration

Spring 2016 Culture Club project ended on a celebration together with InnoBarentsLab, Finnish Red Cross and Lapland African Association members. Of course also other Lapland University of Applied Sciences students and Medo Aljanahi´s friends were taking part as well.

At 16.00 on 26.9.2016 InnoBarentsLab members and other students gathered to Valdemari beach. Tables and chairs from school were set in two lines so that everyone could face the pretty river while devouring rice, chicken, salad and other yummy dishes prepared by Medo and his friends.

Celebration started a little past 17.00 with a small introduction from the participants present. Persons were first asked to write a theme of their choosing (for example sports) and to in turns pick randomly a theme from all the collected themes. When their turn came, they would tell their name, what they are studying or where they are working and would try to tell about the topic. This activity broke the ice in the group and a lively conversation broke out.

Next everyone were asked to just help themselves to the treats on the table and the event stayed free-form all the way to the end. After 19.00 IBL members and other helpers gathered all the equipment and leftovers and the event officially ended.
